Using Your VPS Power Controls
This article explains how to take advantage of the power controls provided to you for server management.
Accessing Your Power Controls
You will need to be logged into your Dashboard.Â Then you can find the power controls on the overview page for whichever server you are wanting to manage. The buttons are located at the very top of the overview page.
Rebooting Your VPS
You can perform a reboot of your server by way of theÂ Reboot button. Once clicking this button, a confirmation will appear. Click Confirm to continue with the reboot. This will issue aÂ graceful reboot to your server.
You may also notice on the confirmation box that there is an option to enableÂ aÂ forced reboot. This is recommended only if your server is frozen and the graceful reboot is unsuccessful.
NOTE: Please do not issue reboot multiple times, as with each click creates a newÂ Restart Job meaning that if click the button 3 times, it will queue up 3 jobs to restart the machine.
Powering Off Your VPS
This is an uncommon option, however an option nonetheless. You can perform a safe shutdown of your server with theÂ Power OffÂ button. Once clicking this button, a confirmation will appear. ClickÂ ConfirmÂ to continue with shutting down your server.
Again on the confirmation box there is an option to enableÂ aÂ forcedÂ shutdown. This is recommended only if your server is frozen and the power off button is unsuccessful.
Powering On Your VPS
This option will only be available when your VPS was in the off state. You can power on yourÂ server with theÂ Power OnÂ button. Once clicking this button, a confirmation will appear. ClickÂ ConfirmÂ to continue with shutting down your server.
Towards the bottom of your server's overview page is a section that displays Recent Jobs. This is a helpful resource in case you need a history of the commands that have been issued to your server, especially if your account shares users.
